Another day of play is complete at the 2010 Amway Cup, and the field has now been narrowed to the final eight players.
The day started with the sixteen players who escaped their respective round robin groups in 2nd or 3rd place, as the top players from each group received first round byes in the single elimination stage.

Things settled down after those matches with wins by favorites Ga-Young Kim, Allison Fisher, Jasmin Ouschan and Vivian Villarreal.
The second round play saw the top seeds from each round robin group face off against the previous round's winners. Six of those top seeds would win their matches, with only Karen Corr and Xiao-Ting Pan falling with identical 7-5 losses. (Corr lost to Kim and Pan lost to Allison Fisher).
