The united States has assembled quite a team to send to the World Tram Championships coming up January 30 - February 7 in Hanover, Germany. Representing the USA will be Johnny Archer, Shane Van Boening, Corey Deuel And Oscar Dominquez. These are the four top-ranked American players and are all members of the 2009 Mosconi Cup team.
This World Team Championship carries a $400,000 purse and promises a prize of $100,000 to the winning team. With a team that consists of the #1 BCA-ranked player in Dominquez and three former US Open champions, the USA is sending a solid contingent, all of whom are familiar with winning.
The format of the Teams Invitational is double-elimination to the final sixteen and then single-elimination race to the championship. Three formats, 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball will be contested in both scotch doubles and singles matches.
