The field at this stop of the Stan James Canadian Nine Ball Tour is perhaps the strongest to date. Former World Champion Alex Pagulayan is here as well as current Canadian National Champion Brady Gollan and an all-star cast of Canadian champions. The total player count here at Breakers Billiards and Bistro when the day began was sixty-eight. Only twenty-four will be left to play on Sunday.
Pagulayan, Gollan and current tour points leader Jeff Kennedy are all still unbeaten. They are joined by several others including Paul Potier, John Horsfall, Roger Colbert and Edwin Montal. Potier is having a more interesting tournament than most. His wife is expecting their first child any day now and Paul has to keep an ear out for the telephone as well as play his best game.
There is still a lot of life left on the one-loss side as well. Glenn Cameron, Bill Ganne, Tyler Edey, Paul English, and Rob Phillips all pose a threat from there.
