Mike Crowley came away with the final win over Penny Flammia at the Richmond Billiard Tour event held at Side Pocket Billiards in Richmond on February 7. Thirty-seven players turned out for this growing new tour, a number that has increased with each stop. William Lambert finished in third place at this event after playing well through a strong field and only losing to Crowley in the Semi-finals after putting up a very game fight.
The hot seat honors went to Penny Flammia. This honor may have worked against him a bit as his arm cooled down while he was waiting for the rest of the matches to finish before the finals could begin. This allowed his opponent, Mike Crowley, to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Penny kept fighting back, however, and eventually brought the match to double-hill with the chance to win on his doorstep. It was not to be. Crowley ended the tournament by three-fouling Flammia in the final rack to take the match 7-6.
The Richmond Billiard Tour wishes to thank Calvin Farrell and his excellent staff for all of their hard work and generous hospitality during the event. The next Richmond Tour stop will be held at The Playing Field on February 21st. Players may register up until noon on that day.
