The 3rd Annual Brown's 8-Ball Scotch Doubles Tournament was held at Brown's Billiards of Raleigh in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, October 4th. Turn out was lower than expected but competition was fierce. The players fought hard, but in the end the team of Cory Rochelle and Sunday Keomany outshot Eddie Williams and James Smith to take first place. Williams/Smith came out strong leaping to a 4-1 lead, but Rochelle/Keomany came all the way back to win the race 5-4.
The format for the tournament was APA rules with a maximum combined handicap of 12. Though the play was intense, a good time was had by all. Adding to the fun were the Hooters Girls who were on hand with free chicken wings for everyone. Future scotch doubles events are scheduled.
