The twenty-seventh stop of the 2007/2008 Pechauer All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Starship Billiards in Decatur, IL, on Saturday, January 19. The $500 added event drew sixty-three players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes. Mike Wilder (Decatur, IL) rolled undefeated to the finals. In the hot-seat match, Wilder outpointed Marco Jyawook (Springfield, IL) 5-2. Earlier in the A-bracket semi-finals, Wilder defeated Mike Dunklin (Normal, IL) 5-1, while Jyawook topped off Cecil Messer (Portage, IN) 5-1. In the B-side “final 8” Larry Parke (Decatur, IL), and Maqaddim Abdul-Haqq (Bloomington, IL) eliminated at 7th place Robert Ball (Valparaiso, IN) 5-2 and Don Thompson (Ottawa, IL) 5-4 respectively. In the quarterfinals, both Parke and Abdul-Haqq had their progress end, as Parke lost to Cecil Messer 4-5 and Abdul-Haqq was upended by Mike Dunklin (Normal, IL) 2-5 respectively. The semifinals saw Dunklin continue his hot hand by knocking out Cecil Messer 5-1 at 4th place and Marco Jyawook 5-1 at 3rd place., The tourney finals featured undefeated Mike Wilder versus streaking Mike Dunklin, and Wilder was up to the task – winning the title 5-3 in the first set!
