Owner Dick Cappotto and Dennis Hatch |
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour started the second half of the season the same way it ended the first half; with Dennis Hatch in the winner's circle.
Hatch followed up his first place finish at last week's Windy City Open 8-Ball event, by going undefeated and untested through a field of thirty one other players at Capp's Cue Club in Syracuse, NY.
Hatch started Sunday play with a 9-3 win over Gary Empey and followed that up with a 9-3 win over room owner Dick Cappotto for the hot-seat.
On the one loss side, Cappotto found Karen Corr waiting with revenge on her mind. Cappotto had sent Corr to the one loss side earlier Sunday with a 9-8 victory. The rematch was not as close though as Cappotto handed Corr loss #2 by the score of 9-6.
The rematch between Hatch and Cappotto in the finals was another one sided match as Hatch cruised to a 9-2 win for his third win of the season and second in a row.
The Joss Tour will be at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ on January 20th-21st for their next stop. Tour director Mike Zuglan is taking entries now for the Turning Stone Classic VIII 9-Ball Open scheduled for February 22nd - 25th, 2007. Interested players can reach Zuglan at 518-356-7163.
