The October 28-29 weekend featured three 2006/2007 McDermott All American Tour stops around the country, one of them being a $1,000 added 9-ball event with sixteen players, hosted by Ron Dobosenski at The Blue Chalk Club in Middleton, Wisconsin, on Saturday. The American CueSports Alliance-produced event featured a double-elimination format on Gabriel 9-foot tables, and Dan Ratajczyk of Watertown, WI, ran undefeated through the field. In the A-side finals, Ratajczyk defeated Randy Lamar (Portage, WI) 8-5. In the B-side semis, Craig Powers (Greenfield, WI) eliminated Mike Doll (Madison, WI) 8-5. In the B-side final, Lamar ousted Powers by a 8-5 margin. The tourney final was all Ratajczyk, as he turned back Lamar for the title.
By virtue of 5th place Tom Cox (Sun Prairie, WI) being the highest-finishing ACS member, he qualified for a free singles entry into the 2007 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. Saturday, November 11, will feature Cue Masters Billiards in Dubuque, IA, hosting a $500 added 8-ball McDermott All American Tour stop (for onsite entry details contact Bill Kramer at 563/557-0875).
