On Sept. 3 & 4th, in the little town of Milan, Ohio The Summer Shootout Series Final took place inside E & A Billiards nested in a grand location of Northern Ohio. With 160 players taking part all summer (June-July-August) from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and West Virginia.
When the money rounds came around, Tim Heath (Toledo, Oh.) And Doug Spence (Oberlin, Oh.) found they were playing each other for the hot seat. Tim quickly served notice he was the man to be beat by defeating Doug 7-2.
Spence then met up with Marty Lawson (Erie Pa.) in the semifinals, which had just won against Chad Askins (Toledo, Oh.) 7-4 in the match before. Marty got passed Spence with a 7-3 win, and earned his way back to Tim Heath.
In the finals, Marty jumped out to an early lead but Tim fought his way back and eventually won the match 11- 7.
