Park Avenue Billiards had 41 players competing in the First Annual Jimmy Caras Open 9-Ball Tournament. Barry Mansel, Jimmy's close friend and the person that drove Jimmy to Park Avenue Billiards, said a few words and relived a couple of Jimmy's stories for the players and spectators.
The field included such notables as Buddy Hall, Tommy Kennedy and Ronnie Parks and top regional players as David Grossman, Howard Vickery, Dave Bronsen, Rod Rentz, Ramsey Barrett, Luis Viera and Richie Richeson.
David Grossman went undefeated to win the $1,800 first place money.
