The SE Open 9-Ball Tour was in action again this weekend at the Side Pocket Cue Club in Marietta, GA.
Although the field was narrowed down to eight players by the end of play on Saturday, it was Mother Nature that finally won for the weekend. A storm swept into Marietta overnight and a tree fell on the local transformer leaving the Cue Club without power on Sunday, and no hope for the power to be restored in time to continue the event.
Tournament Director Tommy Kennedy decided that the remaining eight players should split the money, with $325 going to each of the players on the winners side, and $250 going to each of the players on the one-loss side.
Ron Park, TF Whittington, Don Kuhl and Dewayne Logan pocketed $325 each for the winners side. Kennedy, Ian Costello, JR Rossman and Brian Butler each won $250 on the one-loss side. Betty Sessions was the top finishing female player and Sammy Williams was the top junior finisher. Sessions and Williams pocketed $50 each.
Tommy Kennedy and Ron Park will be back at the Side Pocket Cue Club next Friday from 7-10 for an exhibition and challenge matches. The SE Open Tour will then be at The Pool Room in Marietta, GA on July 19th - 20th for their next event.
