Mike Dechaine completed another undefeated run to capture the final regular season tour stop on the Joss NE 9-Ball's 2015/2016 season at Snookers Pool Lounge in Providence, RI on June 4th - 5th..
Dechaine cruised through a field of 64 players to capture the hot-seat with a dominating 9-4 win over Ron Casanzio.
Casanzio wasn't done though, as he defeated Jorge Rodriguez 9-6 to earn another shot at Dechaine in the finals. Dechaine came out on fire in the finals, and raced to a 7-0 lead. Then it was Casanzio's turn, as he won four straight racks to get back to within three at 7-4. A miss in the next rack was all the opportunity that Dechaine needed as he cleaned up that rack and the next, for the 9-4 win.
The second chance tournament saw 21 players come back to do battle on Sunday, with Mike Salerno coming back from the one loss side for the win. Salerno lost to James Chemaly 3-1 for the hot-seat, but bounced back with a 3-2 win over Joe Darigis to earn his place in the finals. Salerno then defeated Chemaly 3-0 and 3-2 for first place.
As always, the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour raffled off a beautiful $1600 custom engraved Joss Cue at this event, and the lucky winner this time was local player Bob Young.
The next stop on tour will be the Turning Stone Classic XXVI on August 25th - 28th at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. The 2016 - 2017 season will get underway at Sharpshooters Billiards in Amsterdam NY on Sept. 17th - 18th.
