The Dutch duo of Van de Berg and Feijen lead the rankings
WITH FOUR EVENTS now completed, the race to claim the three automatic berths on the 2014 PartyPoker Mosconi Cup European side is well underway. This year, there are three separate ranking lists in operation – the first comprised of a five event Euro Tour series; the second a three event ‘World’ series and the last a combined ranking of the two.
At the close of the qualification series in October, the No.1 ranked player on each of the three lists will be named as part of Team EUROPE as they look to defend their title at the Tower Circus, Blackpool from 1st to 4th December.
There is some way to go but Mosconi veterans Nick Van Den Berg and Niels Feijen (Holland) hold two of the three tops spots while Mika Immonen and Thorsten Hohmann are joint leaders of the ‘World’ list.
The next event is the WPA World 9 Ball Championship in Qatar later in June, while European action recommences in August in Slovenia. Aside from the three qualifying spots, the remaining two places will be wildcards.
