With a 7-3 win in the final match in Charlotte, Karen Corr is the new #1 player on the WPBA points list. Going into the tournament, long time #1 player Allison Fisher and Corr were tied for first and both players knew a win here would give them the #1 spot. Fisher went undefeated thru the winners bracket including a 9-5 win over Corr in the winners bracket finals.
It was a different story in the finals however, as Allison scratched in the 4th game holding a 2-1 lead and allowed Karen control of the match. It was all Karen from there with a 7-3 win and the #1 ranking.
Allison's next chance to regain the #1 spot will be Sept 6-9 at the Sandia Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico as the WPBA tour will be taking a short break in their schedule.
