B.J. Ussery went undefeated through only three matches, as he joined only three opponents who showed up to compete on the Jacoby Custom Cues Carolina Tour on the weekend of November 13-14. The $1,000-added event was hosted by Brown's Billiards in Raleigh, NC.
The final four on the winners' side of the truncated bracket was, in fact, the event's opening round. Ussery squared off against Brad Shearer, while Eddie Little faced Paul Peters. Ussery defeated Shearer 8-3, as Little downed Peters 8-1. Ussery won his second match, gaining the hot seat 8-5 over Little.
Their opening round defeat put Shearer and Peters in the event quarterfinals, which was won by Shearer 8-3. Little then dropped Shearer into third place 8-2 and got a second chance at Ussery.
With an $800 differential at stake, Ussery won the race-to-11 lag and the first three games, including a break and run in the last of those three. Little fought back, winning two, also concluding with a break and run. The two fought back and forth with Ussery, jockeying between a two- and three-point lead. The last three-point lead gave him an 8-5 edge. Little won the 14th rack to pull back within two, but watched as Ussery won six straight to seal the event victory. Little received something of a consolation prize by being the winner of the raffle which netted him a $600, limited edition Jacoby Custom Cue.
