The second day of the Great Southern Billiard Tour Championship is drawing to a close at the Diamond Billiard Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The nine-ball main event has had its ups and downs today with such names as Stevie Moore, Shane Van Boening, Jonathan Hennessee and Johnny Archer being sent to the one-loss side. Earlier in the day, Thornfeldt added a notch to her belt with her 11-5 win over Archer, but ultimately was sent to the one-loss side by Sparky Ferrell 11-6 tonight. Jessie Middlebrooks was up one himself from a win over Shane Van Boening 11-10 and is awaiting his next match with Larry Nevel along with Rafael Martinez v. Cliff Joyner.
A couple of interesting match-ups on the one-loss side that are next in line will be Monica Webb and Helena Thornfeldt pitted against each other, and Shane Van Boening and Stevie Moore battle it out. But for Friday night, the big upset of the evening was the elimination of Johnny Archer after his run-in with Shane Van Boening on the one-loss side. The final score was 11-5.
The $1000 entry ten-ball bank ring game took place this evening as well. After almost three hours of play, a winner was determined between the final two players Tony Fargo and Shannon Daulton.
