The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour held their Northeast 9-Ball Open XVII at the Pro Billiard Lounge in Rotterdam, NY this weekend where Tony Ruberto cruised through the field for the first place finish.
Ruberto crushed Jason Michas 9-3 for the hot-seat and sent Michas to the left side of the board to match up with Mike Zuglan who had lost to Michas earlier in the event. The first match between Zuglan and Michas went to Michas 9-3, but the rematch went to Zuglan 9-7 to set up the finals between Ruberto and Zuglan.
Any momentum Zuglan might have had going into the finals was quickly neutralized by Ruberto who quickly scored a 9-4 victory in the first set to take first place.
Ruberto earned $1300 for first, while Zuglan settled for $850 in second place prize money. Michas and Frankie Hernandez filled out the top four spots.
The Joss Tour will be at Classic Billiards in Rochester, NY on April 2nd - 3rd for their next event. Zuglan still has not rescheduled the season finale and is still taking enquiries from interested parties. Zuglan can be contacted using our new player contact feature.
