Rafael Martinez padded his lead on the Pechauer West Coast Tour points list this weekend with a win at The Billiard Connection in Northridge, CA.
The tournament drew an all-star field of 48 players, but Martinez was unstoppable as he took the hot-seat with a 9-5 win over Tony Chohan. Chohan had chances in the match, but was unable to capitalize on many of them.
Chohan then lost to Lorry Deleon on the one-loss side to set up the finals between Martinez and Deleon. As well as Deleon was shooting, he was no match for Martinez in the finals. Martinez put on a clinic in top level 9-ball play with full cue jumps, masses and kicks from everywhere.
Martinez pocketed $1200 for the win and Deleon settled for $800. Chohan and Gerardo Jamito filled out the top four spots.
The Pechauer West Coast Tour has one more stop this season, at Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood California on August 9-10.
