"The Fireball" Mike Dechaine scorched his way through a field of fifty five players at the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour stop at Snookers Billiards in Providence, RI over the weekend of June 11-12.
Dechaine took the aptly named hot-seat with a 9-5 win over Nelson Oliviera and after Oliviera dispatched tour points leader Bucky Souvanthong in the semi-finals, Dechaine scored another 9-5 win over Oliviera to close out the event undefeated.
Dechaine earned $1200 in prize money, while Oliviera settled for $900 in second place money.
Sunday's second chance event saw Phil Davis go undefeated including wins over Dave Wright for the hot-seat and again in the finals.
Davis pocketed $320, while Wright took home $220 for second.
The Joss NE 9-Ball tour now takes a break until the Turning Stone Classic XVII on September 8-11 at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. There are still a handful of open spots left for this event, but interested players are urged to contact Mike Zuglan quickly as those spots will fill up.
