Danny Diliberto is to be inducted into the Buffalo Boxing Hall of Fame on August 11th, 2006. Buffalo has a long history with the sport of boxing and Mr. Diliberto is being recognized for his time spent as a pro boxer training under the great Angelo Dundee. Mr. Diliberto attained a record of 14 wins, one draw, and no losses.
The chairman of the selection committee, Jack Green, is the President of the New York Boxing Association. Says Mr. Green: "This Hall of Fame is intended to honor the many western New York boxing legends." Former inductees include Monsignor Fanklin Kelliher, honored for vital role of boxing in the physical fitness program at his home for troubled boys, and George "Big Boy" Brackey, a heavyweight fighter who was active from 1934-1946.
