The 12th Annual New England 9 Ball Tournament in memory of Tony and Phyllis Costanzo was held on September 20th at Rhode Island Billiard, Bar + Bistro. The purse of almost $3000 was well distributed. The event was an awareness/benefit for the American Cancer Society and Roger Williams Hospital Cancer Unit both charities received $150 each from the players and the room owner. Players came from almost every New England State and New York. Almost every player left with some money in their pocket. A total of $1500 was added to the tournament by the room owner Anthony Costanzo III. We would also like to thank Budweiser, Iwan Simonis, and Sir Joseph Gloves for their support.
Billy Lanna a player who has frequently played at RI Billiard, Bar + Bistro both before and after Tony Costanzo Jr. ran the club said "Charity Pool tournaments are good for the game of pool and more players should get involved"
