The ladies showed in windy Lubbock for the third stop on the Fast Eddie's Olhausen 9 Ball Tour sponsored by Schuler Legacy Cues. With lots of new faces in attendance, the Tour gives a big hello to new comers Lynn, Cheyna, Becky, Rosie, Lori, Tess, Steph, Tonya and Lanita.
Top picks of the field were Kim Pierce, Lanita Moore and Cindy Cole.
Cindy Cole of Dallas showed a lot of heart with her 4th place finish. Cindy made it a family affair as she brought her son with her. He sweated all her matches and it looks like he has the potential to turn into a fine player himself.
Lynn Scott finished a respectable 3rd place after losing her second match to Kim Pierce. Lynn went to work on the one loss side with victories over Tess Garcia and Cindy only to have her run ended by friend and fellow Lubbockite, Lanita Moore.
Lanita Moore is the lady to see in Lubbock about pool. She sells cues and runs weekly tournaments along with having a son, Dusty Ray, who plays very well. Lanita shot through the winner's bracket to finally meet Kim for the hot seat. Kim prevailed by a score of 7-3 moving Lanita to the finals of the one loss side where she triumphed over Lynn for a second shot at Kim.
Kim Pierce of Bastrop is a fierce competitor and a consistently finishes in the money in Tour events. She showed it on the way to the hot seat with victories over Rosie Nguyen, Becky Guzman, Lynn Scott and Lanita. With Lanita coming off the one loss side, the finals was up for grabs.
Both ladies came to play as the finals was a pitched battle. After twelve games, the score was tied at 6-6, Kim came out on top with the championship and another title. Congratulations to both ladies for such a fine performance.
Thanks to all who made the long journey to support the Tour. All the new names and faces from New Mexico and Oklahoma made it fun and exciting.
