A field of 34 other players at Veterans Billiards in Port Charlotte Florida was not enough to keep SE Open Tour director Tommy Kennedy from cruising to another first place finish.
Kennedy took the hot-seat with a dominating 9-3 win over Brian Davalos. Davalos scored a hard fought 9-8 win over Dan Briggs on the one-loss side to earn the rematch with Kennedy in the finals.
Kennedy has been relatively untested through the duration of the event with only one opponent getting as close as 9-6, but Kennedy had his hands full with Davalos in the finals. Davalos gave Kennedy all he could handle, but it was still Kennedy coming out on top 11-7 in the end.
Kennedy earned $650 while Davalos settled for $490. Briggs and Frank Strain filled out the top four spots. The top female and junior finisher was a family affair as 13th year old Amber Jankowski was top female and her 17 year old brother Trey was top junior finisher. They each won $50 for their accomplishment.
Kennedy commented on room owners Vito and Linda Faieta. The have recently renovated the room and it looked great this weekend.
The SE Open 9-Ball Tour will be at Mr. Cues II in Atlanta, Georgia next weekend for their $3400 added season finale.
