Allendorf Claims ACS/Pure X AA Tour Stop #1

Tim Fox (2nd) and Nick Allendorf (1st)

The 2012-2013 Pure X Cues All American Tour – presented by the American CueSports Alliance (ACS) – took off with its first Tour stop of the year at Cuemasters Billiards in Dubuque, IA, Saturday, October 6.  The $500-added 8-ball handicapped tourney on 7-foot Valley bar boxes drew 26 players.  Nick Allendorf (Cedar Rapids, IA) [rated a “4” on a regional handicapping system used] took the A-side route to the finals with consecutively slim wins over Jason Totten [6] 4-4, Warren Meyer [4] 4-3, Jason Gross [5] 4-4, Will Kohl [6] 4-5 and Shane Kelley [6] 4-5.

In the title match, undefeated Allendorf butted heads with Tim Fox (Chicago, IL) [6] who had earlier dispatched Tom Biddulph [6] 6-0 before falling to Shane Kelley [6] 5-6.  Fox then recovered with elimination wins over Will Thomson [6] 6-3, Jason Gross [5] 6-3, Will Kohl [6] 6-5 and Shane Kelly [6] 6-1.  In the first and only title set, Allendorf finally opened up some space with his opponent and blanked Tim Fox for the crown!

By virtue of Shane Kelley being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2013 Pure X ACS Nationals at the Tropicana Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.  The ACS wishes to thank sponsors Pure X Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric and Nick Varner Signature Cases for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Pure X All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities and tour stop openings are still available for the 2012/2013 All American Tour by contacting the ACS.

The Tour moves to Cedar Rapids, IA, on October 13 with a $500 added 8-Ball Tourney at 2nd Avenue Corner Pocket (contact D.J. Wolrab at 319-366-0979).  Further information, entry details and schedules for the 2012/2013 Pure X Cues All American Tour are available at www.americancuesports.org.
