Day Three Underway at International Open

Shane Van Boening

Action is getting tight at the 2023 International Open Championship in the Simonis Aramith Arena at the Sheraton Waterside Hotel in Norfolk VA.

Today is day three of the Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge and a champion will be crowned tonight. One of the semi-final matches is set, with Shane Van Boening facing Aloysius Yapp at 4pm EST. After his 10-4 dismantling of Jayson Shaw last night, Jung Lin Chang is awaiting the winner between Joshua Filler and Konrad Juszczyszyn to see who he will play at 6:30 tonight. The final two winners will then face off at 9:00 PM to determine the event champion.

Meanwhile, the full field of 128 players in the 9-ball continue to battle it out all day today. They are into the third round of 9-ball play with a who’s who of the best players in the world competing. After the completion of the 10-ball event tonight, the 10 foot table will be removed from the Simonis Aramith Arena and play will switch to 9-ball on the feature table.
