Billiards trading card collectibles date back to the late 1800’s and the top billiards players have often been included in collections of cards representing the “champions” of various sports.
One of the highlights for collectors of billiards trading cards was the set of cards put out by the Pro Billiards Tour in 1993. Complete collections of those cards are still available on eBay.
Trading cards have been released recently by Kamui and the Wisconsin Billiards Hall of Fame.
A new addition to the list of billiards trading cards is being released by Leaf Trading Cards, one of the industry leaders in the trading cards space. Leaf has an extensive list of athletes that range from Steph Curry, Peyton Maninng, Tony Hawk and continue to be the industry leader in the pop culture space.
Leaf is releasing a new card to celebrate the career of one of the greatest players to ever hold a cue, Earl Strickland. Leaf representative CJ Breen commented on the decision to create a card for The Pearl, “Over the past 6 months, I have targeted the top athletes from the most unique and underrated sports the world has to offer. Earl is the GOAT of nine-ball pool and has next to no memorabilia on the market and as a collector myself I felt it was important that Leaf signed him to a trading card deal so his legacy can live on for generations.”
The Earl Strickland trading card is limited to a run of 416 copies and each card has been hand signed by Strickland.
