Some of the world's greatest stars are back in Korea once again for the 3rd Annual Brunswick Metro Korea International Championships. The event takes place at Koryo Hotel in Bucheon-Seoul April 24-28,2006.
Returning champion Mika Immonen is back to defend his title as well as past winner Charlie Williams and womens division champion Miyuki Sakai of Japan. Other top notables are Hiroshi Takenaka who finished #1 on KPT International Rankings, Go Takami, Masaaki Tanaka, Hisashi Kusano all from Japan. Germany's premiere instructor and top pro Ralph Eckert, Hong Kong's Lee Chenman,UK's So Shahria, and Filipino up and comers Jeff De Luna & Roberto Gomez. Korea's top four favorites include #1 Ranked Young Hwa Jeong, #2 ranked Woong Dae Kim, #3 Shin Young Park, and #4 Seung Woo Ryu.
On the womens side, the top three favorites will be 4x PLayer of the Year Sung Hyun Jung, #2 Yun Mi Lim, and current 18 year old hot shot Yuram Cha who is currently #1 in Korea KPT rankings. International favorites include WPBA pro Miyuki Sakai of Japan and Tina Meraglio of USA.
Dark horse picks will be the Japanese brother and sister junior champion act of Hayato Hijikata (Japan Junior National Champion and 2nd Place 2005 World Junior Championships) and Hitomi Hijikata.
The event will be televised for 6 weeks on Korea's #1 network MBC ESPN. There will also be a special televised trick shot event featuring Ralph Eckert, Mika Immonen, Shuji Nagata, Shin Young Park, and Charlie Williams.
