Jacksonville, Florida- Lucasi Hybrid is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Dragon Promotions World Junior 10-Ball Championships presented by Simonis Cloth, Diamond Tables, and Ozone Billiards. The event will take place during the Lucasi Hybrid Classic and Ozone Billiard US Amateur Open at Bankshot Billiards on Aug 2-3,2008.
In 2005, Dragon Promotions originally began its own junior event called The Southeast Junior Championships which eventually evolved into the World Junior 10-Ball Championships. Last year the event was won by Japan's Hayato Hijikata with John Morra of Canada runner up, the Girls Division was won by Yu Ram Cha of Korea with Anna Kostanian of USA runner up.
This year will be full of talent, mostly dominated by the presence of USA talents, notably with recent BEF USA Junior Champs Austin Murphy (CA) and 2 Times 14 & Under Champion Landon Shuffett(KY). 19 & Under runner-up Nick Tafoya(NM) will also be a threat as well as up and coming Adam Behnke(NW).
3x German National Junior Champion Dominic Jentsch will also be a big contender against his North American rivals.
The Girls Division will have USA 14 & Under Champion Brianna Miller facing the dominating Hardwick sisters Chelsea and Allison, who finished 1st & 2nd respectively at the Billiard Education Foundation Nationals.
"It's important to plan for the future, and the sport needs new blood in order to grow." says Tony Crosby, who is sponsoring the junior event through his own line of Sniper Cues.
