The Fillers’ Junior Open returns to the World Nineball Tour alongside the European Open Pool Championship in Fulda, Germany from August 9-10.

  • $10,000 prize fund on offer
  • Tournament to take place on August 9-10
  • Opportunity opens to all juniors aged 17 and under

The Fillers’ Junior Open will offer a prize fund of $10,000, with 32 spots available following the same double elimination format as the JS Junior Open and the upcoming SVB Junior Open. Entry will cost $100, which will be refunded after the event is completed, provided they participate.

Continuing Matchroom Pool’s commitment to growing the grassroots of the game for everyone, the Fillers’ Junior Open, named after pool’s power couple Joshua and Pia Filler, returns as the third junior tournament on the 2024 World Nineball Tour.

“We’re thrilled to see the Fillers’ Junior Open return this year,” said Joshua Filler. “It’s an incredible opportunity for young talents to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience on a big stage.”

Pia Filler added, “Supporting the next generation of pool players is very important to us. We can’t wait to see the passion and determination these juniors will bring to the tournament.”

Onboard Sportswear will provide a free custom Fillers’ Junior Open jersey so all can feel and look the part as they compete in the same main event arena of the European Open Pool Championship at the Hotel Esperanto, Fulda from 6-11 August 2024.

Young cueists can anticipate an exhilarating competition reminiscent of last year’s inaugural event, where Dutch rising star Mikal Van Berkal secured his first Matchroom Junior Open victory by defeating Walter Laikre 9-4.

Juniors competing in the tournament will not be eligible to compete in the main European Open Pool Championship due to match schedules. As part of the entry to the Fillers’ Junior Open, juniors will receive a guest pass and three additional tickets for the days they compete, allowing them to have time to study the world’s best as they battle.
