Dragon Promotions is pleased to announce the 2007 Predator World 14.1 Straight Pool Championships. The event will take place at the Hilton Hotel in East Brunswick , New Jersey. This will be the second year in a row Dragon Promotions will produce this event and continue its ongoing support and revival of the game. Predator Products, the Official Cue of the event in 2006, has increased its support of the event and become the title sponsor.
"Straight Pool is truly an international game played in Europe and Asia, but has its beginnings in America. It's a true test of skill and a purist's game, similar to the precision and accuracy of a Predator Cue. We enjoy seeing the world's best coming to challenge themselves in such a skillful game." says CEO of Predator Karim Belhaj.
The 2007 Predator World Straight Pool Championship will feature 52 world class 14.1 players who were invited for this event and qualifiers were held for 12 spots. In total, 64 elite players will be playing for the title of World 14.1 Champion. New players will be joining the event this year and will be making the tournament even more challenging to win.

This year's event will be even bigger and better than last year's event with an additional $5600 added to the tournament. $5000 will be used to pay the players with the highest runs of the tournament. $20,600 will be added to the main purse . Reigning World Straight Pool Champion Thorsten Hohamnn (GER) will be back to defend his crown and will face the world's best again with runner up Thomas Engert (GER), USA's hopefuls led by John Schmidt, Johnny Archer, Cory Deuel, Max Eberle & veteran Allen Hopkins, and Asia's talents of Shin Young Park (KOR), Dennis Orcullo(PHI), Tomoki Mekari (JPN). The women will be taking their shot at the men again including 2006 Quarter Finalist Jasmin Ouschan(AUT) and recently crowned Junior World 10-Ball Champion Yu Ram Cha of Korea.
Other top names include: Ralf Souquet, Danny Harriman, Bobby Hunter, Oliver Ortmann, Mika Immonen, Nick Van Den Berg, Mike Davis, Charlie Williams and many more!
Players meeting will be on July 8 and exact time will be sent out soon and may possibly be at an offsite venue, but the main tournament will be completely played at the Hilton Hotel, East Brunswick New Jersey.
This year's event will also include one extra day from last year to be used during the round robin. Round robin will be the first three days of the event.
