MANILA - Veteran Filipino campaigner Rodolfo Luat and “Pinoy Superman” Roberto Gomez bolstered the 7 man strong Filipino line up who qualified for the knock out stages of the 2006 Philippines World Pool Championship.
Luat gained a round of 64 berth via an 8-4 trumping of David Larsson of Sweden while Roberto Gomez who hails from the southern city of Zamboanga defeated former 2001 US Open 9-ball winner Corey Deuel, 8-2 to sweep his group 22 and barrage into the knock out stage of the prestigious tournament.
They will be joining an elite cast of Filipino cue artists composed of pool icon Efren “Bata” Reyes, Francisco “Django” Bustamante, Marlon Manalo, Rudy Morta, Jeff de Luna, Ramil Gallego, and Lee Van Corteza.
