Jasmin(A) 9-ball:7 8-ball:5 straight pool:127 ; everything in tournament
TannerPruess(Q) Since you just qualified to play at the IPT World Open, I was wondering what kind of background do you have with 8-ball?
Jasmin(A) Well, 8 Ball is very popular in Europe and my favorite game is straight pool and there are many things similar to 8 Ball. Thats all
billiardspro(Q) jasmin how did it feel to beat allison fisher for your first big win in the usa
Jasmin(A) Of course it was a great feeling especially because it started not very good for me and I was trailing but was able to turn it around.
Johnnyt(Q) What game do you feel you play best? 9-ball, 8-ball, or 14.1
Jasmin(A) I think it is 9-ball because most of the tournaments are in 9-ball.But straight pool is my "secret love"
TannerPruess(Q) What is your training schedule look like?
Jasmin(A) It depends on what phase (training, competition) I am in but most of the time we are practicing 2 times day about 4 hours and then I have also fitnesstraining about 2 hours and mental work.
RonsTheOne(Q) what would you say the single biggest factor of reaching your level of play has been
Jasmin(A) playing in men tournaments where you always have to play your best
vagabond(Q) in what aspect of the game are you working on now?
Jasmin(A) Most of the time I am working on every aspect of the game but since I am going to the IPT now I working on my 8 ball abilities especially the break

Jasmin(A) Final at the BCA Open against Allison Fisher
billiardspro(Q) do you feel your game is where it needs to be to beable to take over the number 1 spot in the world and are you gonna compete more in the wpba?
Jasmin(A) Right now I am number 2 in the World Women Ranking.I think I am able to take over the number 1 spot but maybe not right now.But my main focus is not the ranking but being competitive also in the men division and that´s a long way to go. Yes I will compete more in the WPBA but I don´t know how much more because the qualifying system is not very accomodating
Johnnyt(Q) what woman billiard star did you look up to when you were younger?
Jasmin(A) I didn´t really have a billiard star I was looking up to
steveL75121(Q) Great playing here of late Jasman, what is your cue length and weight you use and do you have standard 13mm tip? thanks
Jasmin(A) standard length, weight is about 19oz and a standard hard tip
Jigs(Q) Hey Jasmin, Any advice on how to stay calm during tournaments? I get so nervous or discouraged sometimes and can't stay focused... I lose games because of this.
Jasmin(A) It is always good to be a bit nervous because it increases your performance if you have it under control.Staying focused is a question on what you want at a tournament. If you have a goal it is easier to stay focused.Never forget the tournament starts before you make the first ball.
shag_fu(Q) do you ever play 1pocket?
Jasmin(A) Just for fun but not in a tournament
SlickRick_PCS(Q) Any other forms of billiards that you have ever encountered before: (i.e. Snooker, Carom?)
Jasmin(A) We use snooker for training (shooting balls) and we only played carom a few times just for fun
AzHousePro(Q) Thorsten made a similar comment about Straight Pool when he was here. What is it about straight pool that you pros like so much?
Jasmin(A) There are all fundementals in (breaking balls, strategy, position play, staying focused a long time, shooting balls........)
Jigs(Q) What is your advice on having a solid 8-ball break?
Jasmin(A) you need a good stroke to be able to hit the cueball hard and at the right spot and also the first ball of the rack.advice:make 20-30 breaks in a row and only concentrate where you hit the ball and maybe tape it so that you can see what you are really doing
Nostroke(Q) are you ready if you have to play Earl in Reno?
Jasmin(A) I am always ready. It doesn´t influence me if somebody makes a big show out of it.
TannerPruess(Q) What are your plans for the future?
Jasmin(A) Improve my game and being competitive also in the men division.I also want to improve my marketing and pr activities to show that pool is a real sport
Nostroke(Q) You are playing so well, is there room for improvement still? What are you working on?
Jasmin(A) There is always room for improvement but right now I am working on my 8 Ball abilities and becoming more stable. Even if you are very good in something you still need to work on it so that it stays good.
Johnnyt(Q) Will you be playing in more tournaments in the USA in the future, you have many fans here.
Jasmin(A) I will definately play more in the USA but Asia is also a good market

Jasmin(A) Well it is not only a sport for me it is more like a passion. There is always a new challenge waiting for me and I just love it.
bells(Q) If the IPT tour became exclusive would you continue to play on the IPT only?
Jasmin(A) No.I think there are a lot of other great events and you should never make yourself to dependent on one horse
steveL75121(Q) jasmin, have you had offers from sponsers yet, since it is obvious your going to the top soon !!
Jasmin(A) Yes we had offers but it is still in progress
lil(Q) have you thought about acting?
Jasmin(A) I really like movies and I think I could be a good actor so yes I was thinking about it but not in particular. At the moment pool is my scene.
Timberly(Q) When you train on a snooker table, do you actually play snooker, or just practice potting balls? Also, do you ever use regular pool balls while training on a snooker table?
Jasmin(A) When we practice on a snooker table we are not playing snooker and we use pool balls in snooker size. But in my freetime I play Snooker for fun.
SlickRick_PCS(Q) Since you beat Fisher and considered a threat towards the men, do you consider yourself as a new dominance of women's pocket billiards (much less a pioneer)?
Jasmin(A) No I would not say that, but maybe I am a new generation of women players because of my different style. Have you ever heard of Jean Balukas?
Unknown(Q) what do you do to keep motivated during practice sessions?
Jasmin(A) It is so important to have goals because it is much more easier to stay motivated.I know for what I am doing that and success is the best motviater
Island(Q) Do you feel 14.1 will be part of your training progam to improve your 8-ball skills, and do you think the controlled style of Allison and Karen will limit them to getting to that next level?
Jasmin(A) Yes it is a part of my training program to improve also my 8-ball skills because there are a lot of other things in straight pool that you can use for 8-ball and 9-ball (breaking balls, position play etc...)It is definately not my style but I am not the right person to answer that.
TX(Q) I see that you are very highly ranked using the PAT tests. Could you say if those tests are good to train with or are they better to just use as a test only. Thank you.
Jasmin(A) I think is a good test and also good for practice. You can easily check all your abilities.
AzHousePro(Q) You mentioned that you were still interested in competing on the WPBA tour. Will you come over to the states and play in qualifiers to try to make it on tour?
Jasmin(A) Right now it is the best women tour in the world so of course I will try to qualify for it but again it is not our main focus.
TX(Q) Do you have any favorite practice routines? What does your practice session consist of?
Jasmin(A) It all depends in what phase (training, competition) I am right now.We try to train as various as possible but we have main priorities each months. That means e.g. if we practice my break we also use cameras, different tables and balls and I play about 100 breaks in one session.I have a favourite secret drill which you can learn in one of my trainings.
jeepxj(Q) To most Americans in general you are relatively unknown,Do you feel you have the motivation to overtake Allison and Karen if you came here on a regular basis?
Jasmin(A) I am 100 % motivated to takeover anybody and I will try to do that but my main focuse is to be competitive in men tournaments
AzHousePro(Q) Can you elaborate on the PAT tests for those of us who are not familiar with them?
Jasmin(A) There is a website especially about the PAT Test: www.pat-billiard.com There you find all the information about the Test System. It is good
steveL75121(Q) what is the name of your playing cue or if it is a custom who made it/ thx
Jasmin(A) I am playing a regular mezz cue but with a predator shaft. That´s the best shaft I ever played with.
Deno(Q) Hi Jasmin, congratulations on qualifying for our tour. How do you think our conditions will affect your game, meaning schedule, slow cloth, tight pockets, etc.?
Jasmin(A) Hi dad:-)I don´t know how much it will inluence me but we try to prepare as good as we can by using similar conditions in training. Normally I am very good at adjusting to table conditions. My training table is also very though to play.
AzHousePro(Q) Can you tell us a little about your coach?
Jasmin(A) I met Michael Neumann when I was just 6 years old and I don´t know why,but he decided to work with me.I am very happy that he made this decision to work with me because I don´t think I can have a better trainer, coach, manager or friend as him. We are a "dreamteam" and have a common goal.Beside the training and coaching he is doing also the doing the marketing, sponsoring and pr work for me.
Deno(Q) Per our conversation, I am very happy for you and am proud of the fact that you have shown the world that yes, the gender gap is closing in this game! Have you fully understood yet that you are the first woman to qualify for any of the IPT events, and it happens to be the biggest prize money tournament in the history of the sport? What message do you have for other women who maybe don't think that they can compete with the men?
Jasmin(A) A big plus is that I always played with men since I started playing pool.It was just normal for me so I look at it different that maybe other women do.For some women it is such a big deal to play against men. I wanna show that it is not a question about the gender. Who cares if I am women as long as I make the balls.
AzHousePro(Q) Jasmin, what was it that convinced you to enter the IPT qualifier?
Jasmin(A) Real Pool Real Rules Real Money :-) And to compete with the best players in the world!!
Jasmin(P) Thanks for all the support of my fans especially during the BCA Open and the IPT Qualifiers.Keep in mind:Have a goal, stay focused, work for it and your dreams will come true!!!!BYE BYE
AzHousePro(P) I would like to thank Jasmin for taking the time to hold this chat with us.
