JPNEWT Tour and Castle Billiards to Host World Championship Qualifier

The JPNEWT Tour, A WPBA regional tour, and Castle Billiards are hosting a qualifying event for the WPA Women’s World 9-Ball Championship. The WPA Women’s World Championship will be held November 19-22, 2009 in Shenyeng, China.

This qualifier will be held October 10 & 11, 2009, and is open to all females who have not already accepted an invitation from the WPA to participate in the Championships. It will be held at Castle Billiards, 349 Route 17 South, in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The telephone number at Castle Billiards is 201-933-6007. Castle Billiards, a long-time supporter of women’s billiards, assures an enjoyable tournament with such amenities as a massage chair, flat screen TV’s and a full menu kitchen.

The entry fee for this event is only $55 plus either $30 for a JPNEWT membership or the payment of a $15 Guest Fee. The event is open to only the first 64 players, so get your entries in quickly to Linda at 443-852-0020. The format of the event will be a race to 7 games, winner breaks, with a double elimination chart. The finals will be a modified race to 9. If the undefeated player reaches 7 games first, the match is over; if the player from the one loss side reaches 7 first, they must play out to 9. The players meeting at 11 AM on Saturday is mandatory attendance and all players must be signed up prior to the players meeting.  It should be noted that the JPNEWT dress code will be strictly enforced at this event. For details on the dress code please go to: www.jpnewt.com.

The tournament features $1500 in added money plus $500 in travel money for the winner who accepts the spot in the World Championship event. The winner must be a player in good standing with their federation to qualify.
