More Junior Winners
Collegiate & Artistic Champions Named

Colorado Springs, Colorado: Following the successful Junior & Collegiate 9-Ball Championships at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor last month (June 15-20), the Association of College Unions International [ACUI] issued its list of 2005 champions and special honorees from the event. Earlier, winners of the Artistic Pool divisions had also been named and added to the recordbooks.

Among the collegiate finishers was ACUI defending champion Lars Vardaman of Southern Illinois University, who held onto his title for a second consecutive year. In doing so, he joins a short list of only five male players to have held back-to-back titles since 1937. On the women's side, '03 champ Eleanor Callado of San Francisco State University edged out sister and teammate Emilyn for her second title, making her only the sixth woman to hold dual crowns since 1939.

Also recognized with peer-reviewed Sportsmanship Awards were David Coon (North Dakota State University) and Emilyn Callado (San Francisco State University). The director's awards for Best Break went to William Paul Song of Georgia Tech and SFSU's Eleanor Callado.

In the four-division artistic pool lineup, the following age-group winners were crowned:

14 & Under Girls: Chelsea Hardwick (Evansville, Ind.)
18 & Under Girls: Alexandra Calabrese (Auburn, Pa.)
14 & Under Boys: Landon Shuffett (Greensburg, Ky.)
18 & Under Boys: Josh Marlowe (Battle Creek, Mich.)
