
Pan-American 9-Ball Championships Announced
The beautiful Island of ARUBA will be hosting three Pan-American 9-Ball Championships from May 27th through the 30th. The 7th Pan-American 9-Ball Championship for Men, 4th Pan-American 9-Ball Championship for Women and the 1st Panamerican 9-ball Team Championship, all will be organized by the Aruba Billiard Federation (FEBIAR) and the Panamerican Confederation of Billiards (CPB). Mr. George de Nobrega is the President of the Aruba Billiard Federation and Mr. Victor Robayo is the President of the Panamerican Confederation of Billiards.
The Pan-American Championships is the most important and prestigious 9-Ball event in this area that groups fiftheen (15) Caribbean, Central and South American Countries. This event is sanctioned by the World Pool Association and in addition to adding a prestigious 9-Ball title to one's resume, the event qualifies eight (8) male players to represent their countries during the World Pool Championships to be held this year in Taipei, Taiwan in July 2005 and two (2) female players to represent their countries at the World Pool Chamionship.
A field of 64 male players and 16 female players will be on the Island to battle each other for the prestigious title, plus points for the C.P.B. ranking system. The event will be held at the Pool Plaza, Sasaki Weg Z/N.
Allan Rolon from Puerto Rico and Adriana Villar from Costa Rica, are the defending Champions and have confirmed their participation in the event.
